I have always loved fashion. From when I can remember, I loved playing dress up, and I still do to this day!  It was a dream come true when I got to play dress up at Queenie and Pearl.  The best part is they have new and vintage pieces, so marrying the two together to create modern outfits was a blast!  

Going full out vintage, all new modern pieces or a combination of the two is easy and fun!  The key is to always have something with a modern vibe so you don’t look to costumy.  I also like the juxtaposition of pieces, playing with textures, eras, feelings.  I like to mix hard with soft, black with pastel, tweed with faux fur, 70’s fashion with a modern vibe.  I always always say yes to sparkle and shimmer as well!! 

Accessories can be used in multiple ways too - think outside the box!  Here, I used a vintage scarf as a belt, but you can also tie around your neck, bag, wrist, head - the options are endless!  Pairing a new or classic purse with a vintage look gives it a modern twist.  Stacks of jewelry are always a winner; stack up rings, bracelets, necklaces - just not all at once!    

Mixing prints is also a fun way to marry vintage with modern.  Keeping in the same color palette makes mixing accessible, and with that, any patterns will work!
